I am currently a Graphics Research Scientist at Facebook Reality Labs solving interesting computer graphics problems for virtual and augmented reality. Previously, I was working as a graphics research lead at the Technology Development Group of Apple, a principle graphics engineer at the Cloud Rendering Service team of Autodesk, and a postdoctoral researcher at the Program of Computer Graphics of Cornell University

I was born on Oct.14th 1980, Loudi, Hunan Province of China. In 1997, I was enrolled in Zhejiang University. After four years' study, I received my B.S. degree from the Polymer Engineering Department and secondary B.S. degree from the Computer Science & Engineering Department in 2001. Then I pursued my M.S. at State Key Lab of CAD&CG, Zhejiang University. During my M.S. period, My research was under the supervision of Prof. Qunsheng Peng and Prof. Wei Chen. Since September 2005, I started to pursue my Ph.D. in the Computer Graphics Group of the Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik in Saarbrücken, Germany, and my Ph.D. supervisor was Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Seidel. During my Ph.D. phase, I have been closely collaborating with Prof. Jan Kautz.  Also I had ever visited the Internet Graphics Group at MSRA under the supervision of Prof. Xinguo Liu and Computer Graphics Group at MSR under the supervision of Dr. John Snyder. My mentors are wonderful and I have learned so much from them for both my research and career!

   Sep. 12th, 2013  Our paper "A Practical Algorithm for Rendering Interreflections with All-frequency BRDFs" has been accepted by ACM TOG.
   Jul. 28th, 2013  Our work "Complex Luminaire Rendering" has been documented as a technical report (PCG-13-02), and is currently under submission.
   Jul. 22th, 2013  Our paper "Anisotropic Spherical Gaussians" has been accepted by ACM SIGGRAPH Asia 2013, and details are coming soon.
   Jan. 19th, 2013  Our work about precomputation-based real-time rendering of volume scattering has been accepted by IEEE TVCG.
